About

About this counselling practice

This site belongs to a small, one-person counselling practice run by Gus Hamilton. It exists to make one thing simple: finding a time to talk. You can read what the practice offers, understand how sessions and fees work, ask a question, and book an appointment directly into an open time slot without a phone call or a referral.

Counselling is delivered one to one by secure video call, with a longer first session so there is room to work out what has brought you in and how often to meet. Sessions are $160, there is no GP referral or mental health treatment plan needed, and bookings are managed through the Zanda client portal.

Who it is for

The practice works with individuals: adults, and young people from age 14 up. People come for many reasons — identity and self understanding, grief and loss, family dynamics, relationships and separation, changing bodies and life stages, big transitions, or the sense that something is tangled and hard to name. You do not need a diagnosis or a clear explanation to make an appointment.

The practice is queer-informed, and it also holds specific space for people rebuilding after domestic and family violence, coercive control or a relationship that has worn down their sense of self. Young people are treated as clients in their own right: privacy and autonomy matter, and caregiver involvement is discussed rather than assumed.

Who runs it

Gus Hamilton, Counsellor

Gus is an animal lover, community builder and creative with a conscience, with a professional background spanning education, youth work and counselling. He cares deeply about people, fairness and making space for lives that do not always fit neatly into the boxes they are given.

His training does not enter the room alone — lived experience comes with it, shaping the way he listens, the questions he asks, and the care he takes not to make assumptions about someone else's life. Therapy here is engaged and conversational, interested in you as a whole person and in the context around what is happening now.
